19th century cast iron umbrella stand in the form of a fully armored knight. Note the subtle gold paint on the chest plate, leggings and shield. He stands on an wall of stone which contains the phrase "CAP A PIED". English registry marks on the bottom of the removable pan indicate a manufacture date of 11/1882.
